Sawyer's Dedication Letters

To my sweet Sawyer,
The journey began on December 12th, 2005. Your Daddy and I found out that we were going to have a baby and we were so excited! From that very moment, I finally knew what “faith” was all about. As you began to grow and move inside of me, I was overwhelmed with a sense of joy and peace because I knew that God’s hand was making you and he was making you exactly who he wanted you to be. On August 13th at 10:52pm, I met you and fell in love with everything about you. God had given us a sweet, healthy baby boy. What a miracle!
As I watch you grow, I am constantly amazed at God’s grace and his blessings upon my life. He has given me a Godly husband and now a son. Each morning I long to see you awake and look up at me with those bright eyes and big smile. I now understand more about God’s unconditional love.
May you welcome Jesus into your heart one day and experience His love for you. With Him all things are possible….he will never leave you. Now, I can’t wait to continue this journey with you, Sawyer.
I will always love you.
-Mama-

Dear Sawyer,
Wow! I can’t believe I have a son! You are only 3 months old and already my best friend and the coolest person I know. God has really blessed me with you. Your Mama and I prayed only for a healthy baby that would grow up with Christ in their heart and he has truly delivered. Even now I can see the love of Him in your sweet little smile. Jesus thank you for allowing us to spend time with Your Sawyer. Help us to raise him not how we would want him to be raised, but how you would have him be raised. You gave him to us, and now we give him back to you as the very best we have to offer.
Sawyer I pray that you grow to be a man that fears the one true Savior. Don’t become domesticated to your faith as this world would have you to be. Keep your eyes focused on Christ in all you do. Be a wild, barbaric soldier in His army. Don’t be afraid of the unknown. If it wasn’t for the guidance of Jesus, I would never have had the faith to bring you into this world. The challenge would have been too great. He gave me courage though, and He can do the same for you. I love you son, with all of my heart, but remember this—put the Lord in your heart and He will lead you!

“A man is never more a man than when he embraces an adventure beyond his control, or when he walks into a battle he isn’t sure of winning.”

Love,
Daddy
