Mountain Woman...

Today was a very eventful day. Michael took Sawyer to school, Scout and I got ready around 9am to wait upon the arrival of Mema. When Mema arrived we finished getting ready and I went out to start my car. It started and then on the way back in the house I realized that it had shut off. So,I thought for a minute and realized that the night before my gas light came on going to the gym and I left my wallet in Scout's diaper bag so I couldn't get gas. Yes, I was out of gas. So I ran to the basement and gathered a gas can and headed off to the gas station in Mema's car. Mema and Scout stayed at home in the warm house. I returned with the gas and put it into my gas tank. No problems, I was so proud of myself.

Then I texted Michael at school and said a mountain woman can do anything! His text back said what mountain woman did you find to help you. Ha!Ha!

New Things...

Well, we have adjusted really well to having a little baby girl in the house. She is so precious and sweet. Sawyer loves her and is a very loving, big brother. He is quick to tell others about the rules with Lily Scout and is very helpful with getting diapers. I am really enjoying maternity leave and blessed to be able to stay out for about 3 months. Sawyer is still going to preschool but just does half days. I pick him up in car line each day at Noon. He thinks that is the best thing ever.

Scout is a really good sleeper. Last night she ate at 12:30 and then again at 6:30 and goes back to bed for the morning. I have really been enjoying this pattern. She isn't much into crying but instead does a lot of grunting when she is hungry or wants to be held. She loves looking at the Christmas tree lights, bouncy seat, and just looking around. I call her bright eyes cause she has the brightest little eyes in the world.

I'm finishing up teaching my hybrid online class and have stayed busy at night grading final papers and projects. I really enjoy teaching and will be teaching Math and Science activities next semester. This is so much fun to me!

Michael has just finished up with football. Tuscola made it to the 4th round of the playoffs and had an outstanding year. It was fun to watch their hardwork pay off. The quarterback, Tyler Brocious(Sawyer's hero) will be extending his career at NC State. We do daily pronouncements(supposed to be announcements) of Sawyer posing as Tyler except he plays for the Clemson Tigers of course.

I love being a Mom to my precious children and feel so blessed. I have found that I actually can cook somewhat. I've been making a lot of meals in the crockpot like potato soup and beans. I have enjoyed catching up with shows like The View and HGTV.

Lily Scout will be playing the part of baby Jesus in our church nativity on Christmas Eve. We are so blessed to have her in our life. What a miracle God has blessed us with during this Christmas season!

Merry Christmas!

Nativity...

One of my favorite things about Christmas is getting out Sawyer's nativity set. This year I have been amazed at what I have found in the nativity each day. I captured a few of the items that Sawyer has added on his own such as football players, a referee, a snowman snow globe, and his truck and horse trailer.

Tree 2009...

This 12 foot tall tree was in my house ready to be decorated the day after I came home from the hospital. We had fun decorating it and have enjoyed seeing it everyday.

Still Need Sleep...

This is not a joke, Sawyer fell asleep on our steps going to the basement after a night of watching Daddy and Poppy lift weights.

Bethlehem...

One of our favorite local coffee shops, The Coffee Zone, hosted the Town of Bethlehem event. We decided to get a family pic with the donkey. Remember the Belue Christmas card the first year Michael and I were married?
